We’ve started to add HIIT training to work Streak’s strength. Unfortunately no video since it takes three of us to do it – one person to hold the therabands, one to monitor and I have to encourage him to keep pulling.
He seems to love it so I’m hoping he’ll also be into weight pull when I intro it next spring.
Prowl and I didn’t have the best weekend – I re-tweaked my hamstring and that messed up my throws. He loved it though and had lots of out-of-bounds catches.
Streak got to try lure coursing for the first and last time. He hopped after it, then decides it was boring half way down and just sort of wandered off. He did a lot better at barn hunt Saturday and got second place with first place only being a tenth if a second faster.
Sunday he did the dock fun run (his human missed it on the Saturday). I didnt throw the beat, but he still managed to place first by 3 feet. We had some more pool time after and the figured out we get longer jumps if I drop the “Ready. Set”
Overall the weekend seems to be a success. We had a slight hiccough Friday when someone reported us to SaskHealth, but we got cleared to proceed after a phone call and they confirmed we were doing even more than recommended. People have been poking the different sports groups for the next competition/practice times including those who only heard about the event from others.
Also you wouldn’t expect small town sask to have one of the best veggie burgers and fair trade coffees ever, but here we are. I’m def going to have to track them down whenever I’m up there.
I think because his regular hydrotherapist wasn’t there. He also tried looking around while trotting and gave me a heart attack when he stumbled. Thankfully he recovered easily and paid more attention after.
